Songkran Festival 2010 @ Hatyai

It's been a busy days since the Songkran festival aka Thai New Year. The very first time participated in this Thailand nationwide celebration did impress me well. This year due to red shirts protests incident in Bangkok had brought even more peoples to the southern part of Thailand which is Hatyai to celebrate their new year. Before arrived at Hatyai, i was thinking how bad they gonna pour the waters on us, i can't imagine until we're there and all i can say it was a real fun. Our journey started from Alor Star, before headed to Hatyai, we stopped by a place called Songkla (beach side)for our lunch. This was my first time eating horseshoe crab and a super spicy dish called "Ken Som".
Nothing much to do after the lunch, we took a stroll around the beach and headed to Hatyai afterwards. First thing we got to do was looking for a powerful water gun. Well i got me and my dear Joan each one. Showing below was our super shooter water gun. The water war was actually started later that evening. We can't wait to check in our hotel and straight to join the crowd, and one thing pissed us off was the van we rented was broken halfway. Anyway later that night we still manage enjoyed ourselves in this celebration. Didn't manage to take pictures on what happened that night cause we were all so eager to play and our camera wasn't waterproof.
So the situation of that night was so crowded, picture showing below was taken in the morning of the next day. It was so happening, with Thai boxing, concerts, fireworks everyone groove with the musics and pouring cold waters on each others. Woww.... it was fun. Party last till midnight and only after it we had our dinner or whatever. And the thing happened next day was all recordered at the movie below, i covered my camcorder with just an ordinary plastic bag, and whooola! Enjoy the video! I'll definitely come back next year for this Songkran Festival.
