Songkran Festival 2010 @ Hatyai

It's been a busy days since the Songkran festival aka Thai New Year. The very first time participated in this Thailand nationwide celebration did impress me well. This year due to red shirts protests incident in Bangkok had brought even more peoples to the southern part of Thailand which is Hatyai to celebrate their new year. Before arrived at Hatyai, i was thinking how bad they gonna pour the waters on us, i can't imagine until we're there and all i can say it was a real fun. Our journey started from Alor Star, before headed to Hatyai, we stopped by a place called Songkla (beach side)for our lunch. This was my first time eating horseshoe crab and a super spicy dish called "Ken Som".
Nothing much to do after the lunch, we took a stroll around the beach and headed to Hatyai afterwards. First thing we got to do was looking for a powerful water gun. Well i got me and my dear Joan each one. Showing below was our super shooter water gun. The water war was actually started later that evening. We can't wait to check in our hotel and straight to join the crowd, and one thing pissed us off was the van we rented was broken halfway. Anyway later that night we still manage enjoyed ourselves in this celebration. Didn't manage to take pictures on what happened that night cause we were all so eager to play and our camera wasn't waterproof.
So the situation of that night was so crowded, picture showing below was taken in the morning of the next day. It was so happening, with Thai boxing, concerts, fireworks everyone groove with the musics and pouring cold waters on each others. Woww.... it was fun. Party last till midnight and only after it we had our dinner or whatever. And the thing happened next day was all recordered at the movie below, i covered my camcorder with just an ordinary plastic bag, and whooola! Enjoy the video! I'll definitely come back next year for this Songkran Festival.

Local Chinese Cuisine Beef Bak Kut Teh

Ever heard of "Bak Kut Teh"  that cooked with beef, well i got to say it really taste good. This was a recommendation from a friend of mine from Malacca and it can only be found in Malacca.  I had tasted various type of "Bak Kut Teh" even the dry one but it was all pork.  Anyway i can't really taste the herbs of the "Bak Kut teh" like i used to but the aroma and the black pepper taste make me can't stop.  The stall setup was simple enough and just right at the owner front car porch. But i think it doesn't matter as long as the business keep on coming. Since the beef "Bak Kut Teh" was so tempting, i didn't manage to take a lot of pictures, just gonna share a little here.

Formula 1 Sepang Malaysia 2010

Finally i had make it to the F1 racing live this year. I was actually planning to watch it few years back but in the end there's always some incident happened and didn't make it out. Well F1 was indeed a good sport to watch live compare to watching it on tv. You can feel the speed, engines sounds, super star driver right in front of you and of course grid gals, lol. Heard that the F1 tickets of Sepang, Malaysia was the cheapest among other stops, of course there were cheap tickets at the hill stand uncovered and killing price ticket at the grand stand where located at the starting grid. But for me in a group of 6 peoples going for a price of RM200 plus each person was still worth a watch. On the race day, there were some car showing off events which i think it was, spotted few Lamborghini, Ferrari, Porsche, and Hummer as well. Looked at the crowds at the hill stand, means this sport was quite famous among the locals. Race started at 4pm sharp, no delayed, that' s what we call international event, unlike those concerts always delay.

Some pics taken during the first warm up race, here started the superb engines sounds, 300km/h
speeds.

Pics above had been blocked by the fence hence not really promising. But in the middle of the race, i was able to went up to the upper tier to take the picture without the fence blocking .

Well, something happened in the middle of the race, i found this is lucky to us but not to Michael Schumacher. His car broke down right at the track in front of us just few laps after the race started. Everyone were happy to see this scene not because of his winning, lol. Here's the snap shots

Watching live was really enjoying, but one thing without some special stuff like below, and the wireless broadcast headphone. you won't actually know how many laps have been through and the positions. Although a big screen tv provided but it seems doesn't help cause we're kinda far from it.

Well i won't say much about the race, will show more pictures at below, cause pictures say a thousands words, i got a short movie clip to share as well, turn on your speaker and feel the sounds. I got to say i really enjoyed the most expensive sport in the world FORMULA 1 Racing.
