Superb Fishing Trip @ Pekan, Pahang

After long wait from early of the month and finally........ We started our journey from KL to Pekan late at night. The journey took us about 2 and half hours to arrive at Pekan. By the time we arrived at the boatman house it was almost 2 o'clock in the morning. After checked in, we still managed to watched the FIFA world cup match between Cameroon vs Denmark and the result of 1:2 gave me a good sleep later that night.

We woke up early in the morning the next day around 6.45 am and went out for breakfast. Not forget the small town nasi lemak, nasi dagang, pulut panggang, and some Malay cakes were definitely worth a try.

After the breakfast and the sea sickness pills, we were all ready to rock. We rented the big boat which was equipped with 2 single stroke 200cc engine. I believed this would definitely shorten our time to reach the fishing spot and less shaky as well.  This boat was way bigger than the first trip i joined my bunch of fishing enthusiasts before. Trust me the bigger the boat the more comfortable way of experience while fishing.

Finished loading our fishing gears and equipments, the journey to the deep blue sea began. We stopped after 20 mins and the boatman said we can start to fish the squid. I had totally no idea what lure to used for. However i was lucky enough to get one on hook after the lesson from the boatman and this was my first ever squid in my entire life. There was no pictures for this session cause everyones were exciting and busy fishing squid. Here's the picture of lure we used that download from google image,

The squids we caught were later cut into slices by the boatman for "shashimi". The squid was rinsed  with seawater then only sent into our stomach. Seawater salty and sweet chewy taste from the fine texture of squid itself had brought our sense of taste to a higher level. This was the true freshness from the ocean i ever tasted. Trust me you won't get this freshness from any 5 star japanese restaurant. We left the spot after a while as the boatman said it was yet the squid mating season or else the chances of getting 1kg squid was piece of cake.

I was tired after an hour of casting and jigging ended up nothing, then i decided to go for bottom fishing as this was far easier that you just wait for the fish to get hooked. Beside waiting i got another fishing rod with apollo lure.  It was absolutely my lucky day with lot of fish hooked although most of them were just small fish.

Late in the afternoon, everyone seems tired but at this time one of my buddy, Eddie's caught had brought everyone fishing spirit back. Guess what Eddie's got ..... nearly 4-5 kg Sagai (Indian Treavally)

Sean & me with the Sagai

Well that's the biggest so far he ever caught according to him. Cool man! Right after that, it was my turn to show off.  Actually i didn't aware that my rod was bended as i was still busy with the rod with apollo lure. I pulled my rod immediately as i realize, lucky the fish didn't get away. Fight for a little while here came the fish ..... amber jack, weight i guess less than 2kg, i was happy enough as this was the biggest i ever caught, LOL.

After few more spots and there's still no big fish caught and it was late in the evening around 6 o'clock, we decided to go back with 2 full icebox of fishes.

Well, backed on the shore nearly 7.30pm, and some pictures taken before we cleaned ourselves and ready for the fish feast!

Our fish feast later the night,

Finally i wanna say this was really enjoy and memorable trip with my fishing buddies here, thanks guys! See you guys in our next trip!

Crazy Hoegaarden Night

I can't believe we did it. This is the night to celebrate my friend birthday at one of the local  club named Opera.  We ordered whole keg of Hoegaarden which served about 80 250ml pints. Guess what, 9 of us finished it and sadly i puked afterwards. LOL. this is my first time drinking hell one big keg of Hoegaarden. We're served at the table where the beer tap connected and we poured the beer on our own.

Well, it was a crazy and fun night with all the dudes joking and chit chatting whole night long.

Bad Day (dead car battery)

As usual, was driving for work this morning, stopped by a petrol station to refuel, right after that, my car won't start. Damn, few trial to start the engine, it didn't work and i can roughly figured it out probably dead battery.  Actually i found my car wasn't right few days ago where my car hardly start but i remembered my very first national made car battery last me at least 3 years but not this imported "H****" car.  I asked for help from the staff whether they got any contact for the nearby workshop, all i got from them was unfriendly response, everything was NO. Well then i called my friend who worked as a mechanic and 99% sure was about the dead battery.  Now the someone came across my mind was a friend who lived nearby so got the help from him to jump start my car.  I remembered once the same problem happened on my girlfriend car, he was the saver too.  Later on got my car a new battery and life goes on....  Well the moral of the story get your car fix or change the parts when you feel something isn't right.

Japanese Fine Dining

A friend of mine asking me out for Japanese buffet today but i rejected but he kept on persuading me and end up at one of the Japanese restaurant named "Rakuzen" located at the newly opened Empire Shopping Gallery. So i wanna shared about the food that i never try it before until today from this restaurant which is sea urchin. I had seen a lot of sea urchin during my dive trip underwater and all of them are live one. Now i'm gonna eat them. Well, the picture seems a little disgusting and honestly it does! About the taste i don't dare to comment much but for me i don't think i will try it for the second time except someone buy me. And this little "urchin" gonna cost you a bomb. Anyway it was recommended to try it once at least.

Next picture was the Wagyu Beef with so thin slices and again it make me regret afterwards because of the price. Maybe i don't really know how to enjoy this high class beef but i always wanted to try the Kobe Beef one day. Check this out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Q5bTqobO4o

Not forget the Wagyu Houbayaki beef slices which prepared in a different serving.

And personal opinion i found this kind of preparing taste better. First twist the lime on those beef then eat it with fried garlic and spring onions. This dish served cheaper than the previous two. LOL! Finally the crab & flying fish roe salad was superb, i think this must be the thick juicy crab meat! check it out
Well, my next target would be the Kobe Beef and hopefully in the near future i'll get the chance to try it out!
